As remote learning becomes increasingly prevalent, educators face the challenge of keeping children socially engaged and developing essential interpersonal skills in a virtual environment. This course offers guidance on creating effective online social skills groups, focusing on engaging children virtually through interactive and educational activities.

Engaging Children Virtually in Remote Learning

Given the growing online platform for learning, remote education seems to be an enduring part of our children's lives. This presentation will explore several techniques for creating interactive and educational activities while teaching over a remote platform (e.g., Zoom). Learn how to adapt behavioural skills training (BST) to an online environment, and discover fun activities and games to teach skills through remote learning.

Techniques for Virtual Engagement

Participants will learn how to create appropriate matches of participants for remote learning, apply the BST model to a remote group setting, and access various resources for remote learning activities. The course includes several digital activities that can be directly applied to online social skills groups, classrooms, individual sessions, or summer camps.
